Sabarimala under tight Protection
Sabarimala witnessed heavy hurry on Tuesday as tens of thousands of devotees devoting their Yearly pilgrimage to the Ayyappa temple amid tight security in view of the 26th anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition that drops on Wednesday
The Rapid Action Force, National Disaster Response Force, Kerala Police, also commandos staged a course march in Sabarimala in the forenoon. Helicopters of the Navy ran periodic surveillance within the sacred grove in the Periyar Tiger Reserve.
The State authorities also deployed drones in the holy hillock to make sure fool-proof security in the Sannidhanam.
Police particular officer K.K. Jayamohan advised that the Hindu that the authorities intensified patrolling in the Sannidhanam, Pampa, also on the traditional classes as part of the security arrangements. Special police teams in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka too have been set up at Sabarimala.
The authorities in addition to paramilitary forces have taken place up in every sensitive point in the forest terrain. Each pilgrim was exposed to security check at a few points before being allowed to ascend the holy 18 measures.
Screening of pilgrims has been completed at Neelimala, Marakkoottom, U-Turn, Valiyanadappanthal, and also in Lower Thirumuttom on the holy hillock.
Staff and workers on duty in Sabarimala were allowed to go into the security zone only on making their photograph identification card issued either from the TDB and also the section concerned.
Additional Director General of Police Sudhesh Kumar is currently camping at Sabarimala. The authorities have set an extra posse of 100 commandos along with 200 personnel at Sabarimala as part of the enhanced security arrangements.
